My Yuletide fics
Dec. 26th, 2007 07:42 amYuletide! It makes me so happy, you guys. There is so much fic this year, it's insane. I wrote a pinch-hit for the first time ever this year in a very tiny fandom, and it's maybe the longest thing I've ever written, short though it is. I was so nervous about it (as some of you know, because I flailed at you in an insecure fashion while working on it), but my recipient is very happy! I'm thrilled.
I was a pinch-hitter, which means I wasn't expecting anything at all for myself, but they asked the pinch-hitters to submit requests after everyone had their primary story. And then I woke up on Christmas and had TWO FICS! I was over the moon, and they're great! Go read them!
First Impressions [Bones]
This is a sweet little fic about Angela first joining the team and proving herself. Bones is a show that never fails to make me happy when I watch it, and I love the women and the team. I'm always very happy to see more of them all. :)
An Apple In Two [Shakespeare -- Twelfth Night]
I don't know how the mystery author managed to write this in the approximately 24 hours between my requests getting in and the deadline, but it's totally awesome. Katie has always thought it was unfair how Antonio is left with no resolution at the end of the play, despite saving Sebastian's life and being loyal and brave. So of course, I thought of requesting a story about him. This blew past anything I'd bothered to imagine myself. My mystery author absolutely nailed Viola in all her heroine awesomeness, and it's moving and funny and generally kind of badass. I'm very satisfied with this resolution, and left an embarrassingly long review.
